No, a boater safety course is not required. However, if you have completed a Boater Safety Course, please bring your boater safety card with you. We will make a copy and keep it on file during your rental period. If you have not completed a course, you — along with anyone else who will be operating the rental boat — will need to watch our safety video prior to operating the boat. To save time before arriving at the lake, you can complete the video online in advance. Simply click HERE to log in or create an account with DWR and add the free Dockside Safety Checklist to your cart. After watching the video, you’ll be able to check out and print or download your permit, and a copy will also be emailed to you. Please bring a printed or digital copy of your permit with you when picking up the boat.
